WHAT WE BELIEVE

Hope Church is part of the larger FOURSQUARE family of churches around the world. The following information will help you better know who we are TODAY, a little of our history and the foundations of which we believe.

HOPE CHURCH - MISSION

“Life with Jesus”.
This mission is simple, yet compelling and purposeful. Our mission is to help you grow in Jesus and be effective in your faith in Him.

HOPE CHURCH - VALUES

  1. God’s presence: God is the only One who can accomplish and provide what we need. At Hope Church we will seek Him first in all we do.
Psalm 139:7 - Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?

  2. Belonging: At Hope Church we want to create pathways which lead a person to truly feeling connected, engaged and purposeful.
Galatians 3:28 - There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:19 - So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

  3. Being Real: At Hope Church we desire a SAFE atmosphere which leads people toward transparency, honesty & truth... being REAL.
1 Peter 1:22 - Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,

  4. Personal Growth: At Hope Church we want to see people transformed and actively inviting others to Jesus.
Ephesians 4:15 - Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,
James 1:4 - And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

HOPE CHURCH - non-negotiables

God’s presence: We pursue it in all that we do.
Psalm 127:1 - Unless the Lord builds the house, those who labor, labor in vain.
He is the one who gives wisdom, healing, provision and hope.

God’s Word: This is our foundation of truth.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

  • We pursue and stand on Sound-Biblical doctrine, governed and confirmed by the Holy Spirit.

  • This is where our Theology is shaped and practiced.

  • This keeps us safe from opposing doctrines, false gospels and deception from the enemy.

Spirit-filled living: Acts 1:7-8 -  He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

  • We are a Charismatic church that depends on the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit to live out the Christian life.

  • The Gift of God’s Spirit is what edifies, strengthens, and empowers the church.

Prayer: This is our primary means of relationship with Jesus.

  • We are commanded to Pray/Ask (together) in His name, filled with faith and expectation.

Worship: This is carried out in multiple forms.

  • Worship is not just songs we sing on a Sunday morning; it is a way of life.

  • We worship in song, financial giving, personal devotion, serving the body, obedience to God,  and daily acts of love.

  • Worship positions Jesus above all other distractions in our lives.  He is our first love; all other desires and loves are submitted and surrendered to Him.

Unity in relationship: Through the practice of humility, forgiveness and love we can keep the bond of peace.  Ephesians 4:3 - 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

  • This helps fulfill our commandment to love one another.

  • Unity above all else creates a safe atmosphere of which people are willing to commit to and grow in.

  • Unity requires that we value people over our personal preferences.

The Foursquare family of churches around the world believe that Jesus Christ is everyone's Savior, Baptizer (with the Holy Spirit), Healer, and Soon-Coming King.

We stand firm on the foundation set by Hebrews 13:8, which proclaims: "Jesus Christ - the same yesterday, today and forever."
